Roads to shut

Sewer works by Scottish Water will see an Airdrie road close for most of next month.

Craigneuk Avenue, from 40m from the extended kerbline of Hawthorn Drive to 20m south-west of the latter road, will be shut from Monday until late on November 26.

Diversions available to motorists will include Oakbank Street, Willow Drive, Bankhead Avenue, Howletnest Road, Poplar Street and Holly Street.

Meanwhile, Glenboig’s Mollinsburn Road, at the level crossing in Greenfoot, will be shut from 10pm on Saturday until 6am the following day.

This is for the completion of level crossing maintenance work by Network Rail.

Alternative routes for drivers will be Gain Road, Gain and Shankburn Road and the B802 Condorrat Road, while pedestrians will still be able to access the road.
