Mchalefight inhamilton isdoubtful

Airdrie boxer Kadenean Mchale is a doubt for Friday’s Hamilton Boxing Club show as organiser Jimmy Stirling battles call-offs at the event.

The fights will take place on Bonfire Night at Greenfields Social Club, but light-heavyweight Mchale is one of the boxers who could potentially drop out.

Stirling had organised for fighters from England to come to the event, but some have pulled out at short notice, leaving him in a race against time to sort new opponents in time for Friday.

He said:“kadenean Mchale hasn’t appeared. He wasn’t in last week so he’s one of the ones I am trying to get sorted. He’s a lovely b ig lad, but I don’t know if he’ll make it or not due to certain circumstances.

“The headaches are call-offs. We’ve had one from down in England on Monday morning. It was one of the top fights as well and it’s tough to get fights for some of the boys.

“They are really good but what can you do? It’s just part and parcel of running a boxing club. It’s hard to make these fights.”

Stirling added:“The reason we go further afield for these fights is because they have fights we don’t have up here.

“We have some good boys up here but so do some of the clubs in England. There’s sometimes not a lot of good ones at their weight class. So we’ve got to go to England to try and find them.

“I’ll have at least a dozen fights on and 11 of them will feature some of my own. We were up at 14 fights but that got brought down to 12 on Monday morning. I’m spending lots of times trying to put these ones back together.”
