Man injured in street attack

A man was taken to hospital after suffering facial injuries during an attack in Airdrie town centre during the early hours of Halloween.

The victim was seriously assaulted at around 2.20am on Sunday, October 31, in Graham Street.

Police are looking for the public’s help to trace the attacker, with the man who was injured requiring treatment at Monklands Hospital for the wounds he sustained. Officers posted on Facebook: “Police Scotland is appealing for informatio­n after a serious assault

in Airdrie town centre in the early hours.

“It happened in a busy street about 2.20am on Sunday, October 31, on Graham Street, with a man requiring hospital treatment to facial injuries.

“Any person with any informatio­n is asked to please contact Coatbridge CID on 101, quoting reference 3471 of October 31.”
