Arts masterclasses for adults

-

North Lanarkshire’s community arts programme will host two adult masterclasses later this month.

The first event for budding artists, A Passion for Pastels, will be hosted by artist Greg Moore on November 20 at Summerlee Museum in Coatbridge.

Printmaker Greg will welcome beginners and those wanting to brush up on their skills for a session which will “explore all aspects of the unique medium of pastels”, with Greg firstly demonstrating his painting process and then guiding participants as they produce their own work.

Over many years, Greg has tutored art groups in the community, delivering masterclasses and demonstrations in Scotland and Ireland.

The second masterclass as part of the community arts programme will see textile artist Susan Bryson explore the beautiful craft of felt making.

Fabulous Felt Making & Christmas Cheer takes place on November 27 at the North Lanarkshire Heritage Centre in Motherwell. Participants will learn needle felting techniques to create “unique Christmas decorations, cards, brooches and much more to wow lucky friends and family”.

Advance booking is required for both masterclasses; visit http://culturenl. co.uk/arts for more information.
