Get festive to design constituen­cy Christmas card

Creative primary school pupils from across Airdrie & Shotts are being invited to design this year’s official constituen­cy Christmas card for their MP.

Anum Qaisar-javed is asking youngsters to showcase their artistic skills and create a design with the theme of “Christmas in the community”.

The winning entry will be made into a card which will then be sent to hundreds of key figures, including both Nicola Sturgeon and Boris Johnson.

Mrs Qaisar-javed said: “I’m excited to announce my first annual Christmas card competitio­n – good luck to everyone taking part. This is an opportunit­y to highlight the skills of pupils from across Airdrie & Shotts, and I’m looking to receive festive entries that highlight Christmas in the community.”

Winners will receive a £30 book token from the

MP as a prize. Entries must be submitted by this Friday by emailing scanned designs to aqj.mp@ parliament.uk or posting entries to 2 East High Street, Airdrie, ML6 6LF.

Participan­ts are asked to include their name and age, and parents are also asked to provide consent for their child’s name to be published should they win.
