Gartcairn could be docked points in the West of Scotland League Conference B after being accused of fielding an ineligible player against leaders Cambuslang Rangers.

The Airdrie side beat Rangers 2-0 at MTC Park on September 29 in a rearranged match, which is when they allegedly fielded the wrong player.

An appeal will be held on Friday.

Handing Cambuslang three points would make a massive difference to the title race.

Rangers are currently four points ahead of St Cadoc’s, which would be increased to seven.

They would also be 12 clear of Gartcairn in third place.
