Taketime tofinish taxreturn beforerush
More than 10.7 million customers completed their 2019/20 tax return by January 31 this year, and 795,300 were from Scotland, HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has revealed.
The deadline for Monklands residents to complete the 2020/21 self assessment tax return is January 31, 2022.
Customers can complete it at any time up to the deadline but HMRC is encouraging them to complete it early to allow for more time to pay their tax bill or set up a payment plan.
Myrtle Lloyd, HMRC’S director general for customer services, told the Advertiser: “Customers can beat the rush and send us their tax returns now.
“They have until the January 31 deadline to pay, which means they have longer to set up a monthly payment plan if they need one.
“Visit GOV.UK and search ‘self assessment’ to find out more information on how to send your tax returns.”
