Winner Maggie means business
An Airdrie entrepreneur won the “champion business award” following the latest course of a support programme for local firms.
Maggie Wright of Claymore Training earned the accolade after impressing expert judges with her presentation at the conclusion of the two-month Building for Growth sessions run by Hub South West.
She set up her company six years ago, specialising in helping people to achieve construction industry accreditations.
Hub South West is a partnership of councils, NHS and leading building contractors which aims to help local firms win supply contracts in support of major construction projects taking place across Lanarkshire and further afield.
Eight businesses – including Uddingston-based Parker Technical Services and Hamilton firm Anderson Property – took part in the group’s 12th growth programme, with online sessions covering topics ranging from finance and tendering to strategy and marketing.
Maggie said:“building for Growth is fantastic and I’ve gained a wealth of knowledge from the business experts on the sessions and from my peers.
“It provides a fantastic opportunity to form relationships with Tier 1 contractors. I have no doubt my participation in this programme will help grow my business and I would urge others to get involved in future programmes.”

Our training is delivered by experienced trainers who have over 15 years’industry experience, and we work with a wide range of clients from individuals to large multi-national organisations.”
