Still time to get kids flu protected
NHS Lanarkshire is reminding parents and carers of children aged two to five (not in school) that it’s not too late to make sure their children are protected against flu.
Maureen Dearie, locality manager of South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnership, said all appointments for the two to five age group have now been issued.
But she told the Advertiser: “We have also held a number of drop-in clinics.
“However, there’s still time to get your child vaccinated as we are all out and about more and immunity levels may be lower this year.
“Whether you didn’t receive an appointment letter, you couldn’t make a drop-in clinic or have changed your mind, it doesn’t matter. You can contact your local team who will arrange your child’s vaccination.”
Please contact the team in the area where you live and staff will make arrangements for you.
Children must have turned two-years-old no later than September 1 of this year to be eligible.
Contact numbers for the team in your area are: Airdrie – 01698 753100 and Coatbridge – 01698 754730.
