Pick-up forreal treesby council

-

Monklands residents with real Christmas trees can have them disposed of by the local authority free of charge.

North Lanarkshire Council confirmed that a pick-up for the trees would take place for people during the next two Saturdays.

A statement on its website read: “Real Christmas trees (with all decorations removed) will be collected free of charge on Saturdays, January 19 and 22.

“You must book this facility in advance as there are a limited number of uplifts on the day and they will be issued on a first-come, firstserved basis.

“Special uplift requests, and the uplift of real Christmas trees, can still be placed during this time by telephoning 0345 1430015.

“Our sites are always very busy at this time of year, especially at peak times between 10am and 2pm, so please be aware that traffic management will be in place.”
