MMA gym postpone training class

-

Coatbridge gym Scottish Hit Squad have postponed their new MMA beginners classes until next Monday.

The Scottish government’s December Covid restrictions are set to be lifted - pending review - next week which is a factor in the gym’s decision.

But the weather has also played a part on top of Covid. The classes are aimed at getting people involved with the first steps in MMA at their new gym in the Newhouse industrial estate.

Scottish Hit Squad is a leading martial arts gym and is home to UFC fighter Paul Craig, as well as fellow professional MMA fighter Chris Bungard, who recently moved into wrestling.

A spokesperson for the gym said: “We have decided to move the course to 17th of January. Only one more week for multiple reasons.

“Mainly the weather and Covid has stopped workers being able to finish specific jobs at the new gym on time.

“Also we will be out the circuit breaker guidelines so the first weeks structure will be off a higher quality of training for everybody.

“The course will be held in the new gym in Newhouse industrial estate. All you will need is 10-12oz gloves and a pair of shin guards would be handy.”
