Brian Reid is remaining tight-lipped on the identity of his trialist during Saturday’s draw with Elgin City, or if the red card had hampered his chances of a move.

The player in question only had 48 minutes to try and impress his gaffer at Borough Briggs before a sending off for a second bookable offence saw him take an early bath.

Reid wouldn’t budge on the players’ identity but did confess he does need to bring in reinforcements.

He said:“i think we still need to try and bring a couple in if we can.

“We’re still looking to try and add, because on our bench we had a lot of young boys and that’s not a slant against them.

“These boys are there on merit and deserve to be on the bench - but we still need a wee bit more, in terms of experience, if we can.

“We still need a few positions covered, with Jamie Mcgowan suspended, Alfie Robinson being out as well, it leaves us very short in the defensive area, and that’s something we need to look at.”

Meanwhile, a decision is still to be made on whether Motherwell midfielder Corey O’donnell will be back in Monklands this month.

The club have also been linked to a move to bring back goalkeeper Harry Stone on loan from Hearts, but the Advertiser understands the 19-yearold will not be returning to Coatbridge.
