Entrepreneur events

-

Lanarkshire Women In Business is running a programme of online “impactful events”for female entrepreneurs this month.

Sessions with top speakers and industry experts will take place on topics including self-confidence, starting a business from scratch, digital opportunities and empowering leadership; plus the opportunity to find out about new £2500 start-up grants.

The programme was devised following a successful year-long pilot which“tested and confirmed the appetite for female-focused business support in Lanarkshire”.

Organisers say the sessions are “open to women at all stages of the business journey, from pre-start through to going concern, [and] women working in business with aspirations for personal and professional growth”.

The programme will then be followed by a series of women’s learning and networking events across Lanarkshire from May onwards, such as group mentoring, coaching and leadership development programmes.

North Lanarkshire regeneration convener, Councillor Heather Brannan-mcvey, said:“march is a statement of intent, registering our collective need to ensure women play a more active and equitable role in Lanarkshire’s economy, and the activities will spotlight that effort and galvanize our resolve to do better.

“Our speaker line-up is packed full of positive role models, top-level insights and advice borne out of years of combined industry experience, and their willingness to participate and give back to support aspiring and existing Lanarkshire businesswomen is truly inspiring in itself.”
