Hope you are well and preparing the next edition of your fantastic magazine. I’ve just taken out my subscription for the next 12 months. Anyway, I notice a lot of new rifles advertising ambidextrous stocks, but what about dealers/suppliers/makers stating whether or not the cocking action can also be switched from right-hand side to the left-hand side of the rifle?

Keith – you’re absolutely right, this information should always be given, not least by us when a review is published. I’m fairly sure we already do it, but perhaps it should be made clearer by us, and the manufacturers. Good point. - Ed

When an ambidextrous rifle can have its cocking/loading system switched to cater for either hand, this needs to be clearly stated.
