RIFLE CHOICE

Airgun World - - Points Of You -

I’m 50-something and after 17 years of searching have found some permission, since the loss of the family farm. Fairly new to a PC and YouTube, I watch with much interest and saw your video on the S510. How do you rate Air Arms next to a BSA, such as the Scorpion. I’m still using a Mercury, and would prefer a light carbine in .22 PCP, but there seems to be so many things to be quizzed over with a potential new buy. Are you allowed to recommend any preference? I will be visiting a range in June for some trials. DAVE BARNES

David – I’m ‘allowed’ to do what I think is right, and in this instance I can heartily endorse your decision to put in some range time. The Air Arms S510 is a fine rifle and so is the BSA Scorpion, and I have both in my collection. The fact is, with suitable pellets, both rifles will shoot far more accurately and consistently than we will, and your choice is really down to which rifle suits you best. Get those rifles in your shoulder and the right one for you should make itself known. - Ed
