No further action over flats blaze

NO further action will be taken against a man arrested after a fire in a flat in Fleet, in April.

Residents of Kingswood Court were forced to flee the building through thick smoke at around 4am on April 15. Firefighters extinguished a blaze in the kitchen of a ground-floor flat.

An arson investigation team was at the scene the next morning as it was thought the fire had been started deliberately and a 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of arson.

However, Hampshire Constabulary said this week that he would not be charged.
