Sporting pub on to a winner
A NEW darts team and plenty of screens to watch World Cup action continue to bring old and new faces to La Fontaine in Aldershot.
Landlord and Rushmoor Borough Council member Bruce Thomas, who runs the pub with wife Tracey, is celebrating 17 years in charge this month.
He said the pub had been lively during England’s short run in the World Cup and that people had still arrived to watch the likes of Holland and Brazil even after Roy Hodgson’s men exited.
Once the summer football is over, the pub will still continue to provide coverage of the best sporting action with multiple screens and the ability to screen two different games at once. A second darts team was created to add to the pub’s current team. There is also a pool ta- ble for customers to challenge for victory upon.
A lunch menu is available from midday to 2pm on weekdays while the evenings and weekends are dedicated to liquid-based refreshment.
