Take a Shot at sports scheme

ALDER­SHOT TTownn FC Com­mu­nity Trust has joined forces with the Na­tional Cit­i­zen Ser­vice to of­fer young­sters the sport­ing hol­i­day of a life­time.

Teenagers aged 16 and 17 can en­joy two weeks of res­i­den­tial sport­ing ac­tiv­i­ties in­clud­ing sail­ing, climb­ing, ca­noe­ing and quad bik­ing, fol­lowed by one or two weeks of ac­tiv­i­ties that give some­thing back to the lo­cal com­mu­nity, such as as­sist­ing coach­ing chil­dren in var­i­ous sports and fundrais­ing for char­i­ties.

Week one, a stay at a sport­ing res­i­den­tial cen­tre in Wilt­shire, will take place from July 28 to Au­gust 1; week two, stay­ing at Read­ing Univer­sity halls of res­i­dence, will take place from Au­gust 4-8. Weeks three and four will take place from Au­gust 11-22, when par­tic­i­pants will com­plete com­mu­nity work.

Places on the course cost £50 and all stu­dents will re­ceive a cer­tifi­cate from the prime min­is­ter upon com­ple­tion.
