SELFPORTRAITS, mosaics and sculptures were just some of the exciting projects on display at Parsonage Farm Nursery and Infant School’s art exhibition.

Throughout the week, pupils were involved in a range of art activities and learnt more about famous artists such as Vincent Van Gogh and Henri Matisse.

Lizzie Seal, a teacher at the Cherry Tree Close school in Cove, which organised the art week, said: “We had two artists visit the school – one was a mosaic artist and the other created willow sculptures – to work with the students and all the pupils took part in activities like sewing and digital art.

“We also created a whole school painting of a recreation of Starry Night, by Van Gogh.

“All the children were also invited to take part in a recycling project at home where they made animals using recycled cans.”

Students’

work

was presented to parents and staff at an exhibition on June 26.

Mrs Seal said: “All the children had a wonderful time and we had lots of positive feedback and comments from parents saying how much they had enjoyed themselves. It was really nice that the younger children in the nursery were able to take part too.”
