Horse coats taken in stables burglary
EQUINE equipment including seven horse coats have been stolen from a stable near Minley Manor in Hawley.
Police are investigating the theft of horse coats – also known as ‘rugs’ – and other equine equipment between 11am and 5.50pm on Sunday.
Entry to the unlocked stable was made by damaging fencing around the field, but no horses escaped.
The 6ft well-used rugs, used to keep horses protected and warm, included a red tartan pattern, one with light blue flowers, another was brown with pink spots and another blue with stars.
PC Caroline Owen, from the Yateley safer neighbourhoods team, said: “I would like to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident or who has information that may help us to track down those responsible.
“At around 2.30pm a member of the public witnessed people in the area on a quad bike. These people may be able to help with our enquiries.”
