Villages link up for annual show
THREE villages are joining forces for another fun-packed family show on Saturday.
The 61st flower show and fete organised by Dogmersfield, Winchfield and Crookham Village Horticultural Society takes place at Pilcot Farm in Dogmersfield, from 2pm.
Attractions will include performances by Bagshot Brass Band, a Punch and Judy show, crafts, games and sideshows.
There will also be children’s events and races, cars and motorbikes, a birds of prey demonstration, pony rides and a tent offering home-baked cakes.
Society chairman Brian Leversha is looking forward to another successful show.
“We feel the new, birds of prey display, will go down well and it will be sponsored by the Four Seasons Hotel,” he said.
“The Bagshot Brass Band, sponsored by Foster & Heanes, will entertain people while they sit and enjoy the home-made cakes from the ever-popular tea tent. The enthusiasts’ car and motorbike attendance was up last year so we are hoping that even more will come and join us this year.
“We have the air cadets managing the car park and are very grateful to them for taking on this job, which frees up some of our helpers to run stalls. We give the air cadets a small donation but visitors can add their thanks for their efforts by throwing money into the buckets that they will be holding as people leave the show.”
An evening barn dance will be held in the main marquee, from 8pm until late, in aid of society funds. Tickets for the evening event, which will feature dancing to the music of the Hogs Back Band, cost £10 and include sausage and chips or a vegetarian meal. There is no bar, so people should bring their own drinks.
Tickets can be booked by calling 01252 615534.
