Castle hitch at fun day

-

THERE was no stopping the fun despite the fact a bouncy castle planned for Beaumont Community Preschool’s summer fun day had to be cancelled due to the searing heat spreading across the UK.

Staff at the school decided it was far too hot for all that jumping around last Friday, and instead encouraged children to indulge in more relaxing activities such as hair braiding, face painting and eating ice cream.

They could also take part in fun and games such as a raffle and a lucky dip, most of which had to be held inside due to the scorching weather.

Lianne Smith, administrative assistant for the preschool, said: “We’re very pleased so many parents have come round with their kids.”

She declared herself delighted with the way the day went, saying it had been much better than they hoped.

The school relies on charitable donations, and Ms Smith said Beaumont organised the summer fun day because its annual fundraising fair, which should have happened in early June, was cancelled due to heavy rain.
