Whizzkid Jake leaves the rivals in his wake

-

CHURCH Crookham karting whizzkid Jake Cranstone is celebrating a big trophy haul this month following a win at the Forest Edge Kart Club Honda Cadet Championship.

The 13-year-old finished third, fourth and fifth place at the Clay Pigeon Kart Club double race weekend in Dorchester, while his finish last weekend at the Buckmore Park club in Kent helped secure his first Southern NKRA title.

Jake has yet more challenges ahead in August with the NKRA Grande Finale in Scotland where he will compete against his Scottish counterparts as well as the next Championship round at Forest Edge Kart Club in Andover.

Dad, Martin says: “Jake has had to deal with a few disappointments earlier in the year due to mechanical problems with the kart, but he didn’t ever want to give up.

“His determination to succeed means he has overcome the challenges that motorsport presents and has just got on with the race and delivered – a cabinet of over 35 trophies along with this month’s impressive trophy haul just shows what can be achieved when everything goes right and the driver has a positive mental attitude.

“We have been racing at a local club level for just over 18 months, and the NKRA is Jake’s first National Championship. Seeing what he has achieved has made me so proud.”

Jake’s JMC Racing team would like to thank their current sponsors, Whizz Marketing and TM Roofing & Building for their valued and continued support but the young whizzkid is needing to secure further sponsorship to continue his racing career in Minimax Class in 2015.
