ALL-ROUNDER Nick Berridge smashed a magficient century to turn Bagshot into sudden promotion contenders.

Berridge cracked an unbeaten 107 to help Matt Pettet’s side to a much-needed 25-point win over Sonning which saw them leap from third bottom to third top in an extremely tight division 2B table.

Berridge scored over half of Bagshot’s runs as Zubair Khan’s 5-61 reduced the visitors to a getable 204 in 47 overs.

But Bagshot weren’t to be denied and complete a full house of victories for the four senior sides at London Road by skittling their hosts for just 138 in 38.2 overs.

Fleet, meanwhile, gave their survival hopes a boost with only a second victory of the season in division 2A.

Captain Pete Talbot led by example as he took 5-81 in reducing visitors Gerrards Cross II to 158 all out at Calthorpe Park.

And the bottom club made sure they rallied to their first victory target of the season, scraping home with four overs and three wickets to spare.

They now lie 22 points adrift of British Airways at the foot of the table and 25 off of safety.
