HARTLEY WINTNEY

-

BEN DILLON is hoping for some more heroics from his Hartley Wintney players this season.

The Row made it to the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup last year for the first time in their 116-year history before losing to Daventry Town.

With a punishing fixture list to end last season, Dillon’s men finished seventh but with the new campaign fast approaching, the boss is hoping for a run at promotion this time around.

“We had a lot of games to catch up on at the end last season because of the FA Cup run and the weather so it doesn’t feel like we’ve had much time off,” the player/ boss said.

“We’ve only lost one player from last season in Sam Argent who has moved higher to play for Basingstoke so we’ve kept the fantastic team spirit we had which is great as there was a lot of interest.

“I thought we could go for promotion last year but we’ll be looking at the top five again and you never know, we could challenge for the top two.”
