Firm’s bid to get area blooming

-

HOOK In Bloom has received a welcome boost after the new estate agents in the village pledged its support for the initiative.

Bridges Hook’s office manager Kevin Winchester was so taken aback by Hook’s 2021 Poppy Challenge that he got in touch with Hook In Bloom to see how Bridges could help.

By the time he had finished his conversation he was won over by the many aspects of the In Bloom project and knew he wanted the estate agency to be a part of it.

Bridges will be sponsoring the Hook In Bloom competition leaflet by designing, printing and delivering it in the lead up to Easter, and will also be sponsoring the publicity leaflet for the Hook Flower & Produce Show in September.

Sue Hinton, Hook In Bloom lead volunteer, said: “It’s wonderful to have major business support for our project and an established estate agency business like Bridges is a superb fit.

“There are more exciting developments on the horizon and it’s fantastic that the Bridges team want to be actively involved with Hook In Bloom.”

Mr Winchester said: “I loved what Hook In Bloom were doing with their Poppy Challenge but as soon as I heard about the whole initiative, I knew it was a project that our company would want to support. We love that Hook is still seen as a village and we wanted to be an active part of the community and give back in such a pro-active way from the start.”

Bridges is hoping to be able to support the Hook community in the same way it has in its other locations, including in Aldershot, Farnborough and Fleet.

“We pride ourselves on being part of the local community, and with all our staff living locally it is important to us to be at the beating heart of the community and not just seen as estate agents, but as people that want to see our area thrive and bloom.

“We work with over 50 local schools to support their events every year, we are shirt sponsor to Aldershot Town Football Club, we are charity partners with Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice in Farnham and, just this Christmas gone, our directors spent a day volunteering at Fleet Food Bank; our Frimley and Camberley offices donated their Christmas party budget to The Hope Hub in Camberley, and there were six other local charities our teams chose to donate their party fund to.

“We very much hope that Hook In Bloom and the Flower & Produce Show is just the start of Bridges being part of this wonderful community here in Hook.”
