New chapter for youth club after sponsorship deal with popular book

-

CAMBERLEY Town Youth Football Club, one of the biggest grassroots football clubs in the Surrey Heath, have announced a new sponsorship deal with bestselling business book I Don’t Work Fridays by Martin Norbury.

The deal will support more than 900 players, across more than 60 teams, as the new home shirt sponsor for Camberley Town Youth.

Barrie Funnell, Camberley Town Youth chairman, said: “This is an exciting time for the club in our 50th season of providing football to the youth of our area and dedicated to helping children and young people play, learn, and enjoy the beautiful game.

“We recently registered our 900th player, which is a club record, and we expect to reach 1,000 by the end of the season.

“Our new sponsor partnership with I Don’t Work Fridays means that we can continue to expand whilst ensuring a fun and safe environment for the children to play football in.

“The generous sponsorship will also help us improve facilities and support the work we are doing with the Football Foundation which we are three years into a nine-year grant.”

“I’ve worked with Martin on the Camberley Town Youth managers committee for a number of years now, so as well as the financial support, we will also benefit from his business expertise to help drive the club forwards for another 50 years!”

Norbury, author of I don’t work Fridays, added: “Our family have been involved with Camberley Town for five years now, with our son James playing since Under-7s, our daughter Lily playing mixed and now in her second year of girls, my wife Jacki has recently joined a newly formed Camberley Ladies team, and I currently manage the Under-12 Girls, as well as kit man for the club.

“So, I know first-hand what wonderful club Camberley is, with a family ethos that always puts the child first.

“They rely on volunteers to make the club run, and it’s no surprise to see that they have more than 90 volunteer coaches alone, and we look forward to helping Barrie and the club expand this to have two qualified coaches for each team in the longer-term.”
