Run for a great cause and enjoy traffic-free roads in the heart of Surrey

-

THE Guildford 10k and junior race, organised by RunThrough, are set to take place on Sunday August 11.

This road-closed event promises a thrilling out-and-back route, leading participants towards Clandon, along the Epsom Road and back to Guildford.

As part of RunThrough’s commitment to making a positive impact, the Guildford 10k and Junior Race will proudly support Shooting Star Children’s Hospices.

This charity provides essential care and support for children with life-limiting conditions and their families. Offering a range of services, including hospice at home, end-of-life care and bereavement support, Shooting Star Children’s Hospice strives to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those facing unimaginable challenges.

With the tremendous success of last year’s Guildford 10k and Junior Race, anticipation is building for another memorable event.

Participants and spectators alike can look forward to a scenic route and the undeniable sense of community that makes this road-closed spectacle a stand-out experience.

As it builds upon the achievements of the previous year,

RunThrough is dedicated to creating an even more exceptional event for runners of all levels and ages.

Matt Wood, co-founder of RunThrough, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming event, and said: “We are thrilled to bring the Guildford 10k and Junior Race to our running community.

“This event is a testament to our commitment to creating meaningful experiences for runners while supporting organisations like Shooting Star Children’s Hospice, who are making a significant impact in the lives of local families.”

Alexa Dizon, events lead at Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, said: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with the Guildford 10k this year. We support families across the whole of Surrey and so to be able to hold our event in an area where our hospice is located is really special; plus, the route runs right past our Guildford shop.

“We are hoping to raise £15,000 from the Guildford 10k to ensure we can continue to provide a lifeline to the families we support, and so encourage the lovely community who live in and around Guildford to join us for this fantastic event for all the family.”

Participants can expect a wellorganised event with accurately marked miles, ample support from the RunThrough team and the community atmosphere RunThrough’s events are known for. Whether you are a seasoned runner aiming for a personal best or someone looking to enjoy a junior race, this event has something for everyone.

RunThrough will organise and deliver 240 events this year, including the Surrey Half Marathon as well as other prominent runs such as the Dartford Half

Marathon and Henley River 10k and Half Marathon.
