Midfielder Wylie sees red as Row thrashed 6-2

-

HARTLEY Wintney’s Reece Wylie was sent off in a 6-2 defeat at South Park on Saturday in the Isthmian League South Central Division.

After an early chance from Hartley’s Tayo Oyebola, South Park got on top and it was no surprise when they edged ahead on 29 minutes. A cross from the right found Aiden Brown unmarked in front of goal. His first two efforts were blocked but it was third time lucky as he fired into the net.

The home side continued to dominate and on 40 minutes added a second goal. Mark Jamarie Brissett found space on the left, cut in and from 20 yards fired a low shot into the corner of the net.

Three minutes later a freekick on the right from Brendan MurphyMcVey found Brown unmarked and the striker scored with a header.

The Row started the second period strongly and on 46 minutes a corner from Jallow on the right found George Winser who saw his snap shot bring out a good save from Bracken.

But Hartley were reduced to ten men on 58 minutes when captain for the day Wylie was shown a red card.

Despite the man disadvantage Hartley edged into the game and on 64 minutes an effort from Andry Demira brought out a save from the well positioned Bracken.

A minute later Hartley were unlucky not to get on the scoresheet when a long range effort from Wagstaffe hit the underside of the crossbar.

The introduction of Row substitutes George Wallace and Connor Lynch saw improvement in the Hartley performance and on 67 minutes Wallace set up Demira who shot wide.

Hartley kept plugging away and were rewarded on 76 minutes by pulling a goal back. Mason Obeng did well to create space on the right and his cross found sub Connor Lynch and Demira who forced the ball home from close range.

But the Row then pressed the selfdestruct button two minutes later.

Goalkeeper Louie Evans’ sloppy pass went straight to Brissett and the

Sparks winger scored easily.

On 78 minutes with Hartley in disarray South Park added a fifth. A freekick on the edge of the area saw saw Murphy-McVey elect to pass to Brown, who completed his hat-trick.

Into added time and the Row scored a consolation goal. A cross from the right found Lynch who headed home for 5-2.

There was still time for the Sparks to finish the scoring. Brown and Brissett combined well in moving through a tiring Hartley Wintney defence and it was the latter who shot home for his treble.
