It is thanks to Dickens that we all wish for snow at Christmas. He grew up during the Little Ice

Age and so the winters of his childhood were exceptionally cold and, well, white! He incorporated his ideas about Christmas into his novels and the idea of a white winter wonderland have continued to stick to this day, perpetuated by art and films.
