Breathe easy

Large windows were fitted on either sides of the hospital wards. Not only did they allow bright sunlight inside during the day, but they also helped with ventilation as fresh air could be circulated. This was a lucky circumstance as the hospital was not situated in an area of London typically known for its great air quality.
