Believed to be the first inhabitants of southern africa, this indigenous people lived a semi-nomadic life for thousands of years before they lost their lands in South africa, Namibia and Botswana to colonists. Within a few years of this photo being taken, the bushmen were increasingly being forced to adopt farming as new laws curtailed their movements. 1905
