Shakespear­e was widely regarded as a celebrity at the time, so it was a boon for the actors of the company to consult with the playwright himself, who even performed with them on occasion. Shakespear­e wrote many of his characters with actors from the company in mind and had to get approval on a plot from the company before commencing with the writing.
