Orig­i­nally de­signed as an an­ti­air­craft gun, the 88mm was equally ef­fec­tive against Al­lied ar­mour. Strengths: A ver­sa­tile car­riage meant that the gun could be ready to fire in a mat­ter of min­utes. Weak­nesses: By May 1945, Ger­man mu­ni­tion sup­plies would have been nonex­is­tent.
