The Al­lied in­fantry con­tin­ues to ad­vance on the Ot­toman Eighth Army, while its northerly re­treat route is blocked by the rapid cav­alry ad­vance. Prac­ti­cally en­cir­cled, it is fur­ther har­ried by RAF raids. With many men killed, cap­tured or flee­ing the battlefield, ef­fec­tive re­sis­tance sub­sides, leav­ing the Sev­enth Army com­manded by Mustafa Ke­mal (the fu­ture Turk­ish leader) des­per­ately ex­posed. There is one av­enue of re­treat – east into the Jor­dan Val­ley.
