Facing Left

In her book on her father’s wartime work, Naomi Games points out that figures in his posters often looked left. Apparently this was a nod to his socialist political values, with the head looking left indicating a progressive viewpoint. However, Games’ work was increasingly drawing controversy, more for its modernist style. This poster to promote Post Office savings accounts for the public only had a limited run.
