A WORKMAN’S HANDS

Archers’ hands needed protection. Shooting gloves on the drawing hand (to protect the fingers) and a bracer on the opposite wrist (to protect the forearm from the passage of arrow and bowstring) were essential. Unlike what we see in modern film and television, no one else would have worn such forearm protection.
