MITR CHAIBANCHA
1934-70
In less than 15 years, actor Mitr Chaibancha starred in over 265 films during the 1950s and 1960s, from family dramas to westerns. The productions of this time were incredibly low budget, often shot on 16mm film. Tragically, in 1970 Chaibancha died at the age of 36 when he fell while filming a helicopter stunt for Insee Thong (The Golden Eagle). So impactful was his death on the 16mm film industry that it caused many film producers to begin making more higherquality 35mm movies.
