REBUILDING WESTMINSTER ABBEY

Commissioned by Henry II to honour Edward the Confessor and as a regal setting for his own tomb, Westminster Abbey is rebuilt in a Gothic style but with single rather than double aisles. At 31 metres tall, it’s England’s highest Gothic vault.
