Gnarly vision
He gets knocked down, but He gets up again
THE BOOK OF EZEKIAL
In one bizarre vision of the Almighty, the prophet Ezekiel says God appears to him on, "a throne of lapis lazuli," as, "a figure like that of a man. I saw that from what appeared to be his waist up he looked like glowing metal, as if full of fire, and that from there down he looked like fire; and brilliant light surrounded him." In the vision, Ezekiel also mentions seeing four, "living creatures," near God, adding: "In appearance their form was human, but each of them had four faces and four wings." He also describes a wheel on the ground beside each of the creatures.
This story is set after the destruction of the First Temple by the Babylonians in 586 BCE, so it may have been a way of saying that God is alive despite the destruction of the temple.
