HENRY DUNANT
The Swiss businessman who founded the Red Cross, Henry Dunant entered the world of business as a representative of Compagnie Genevoise des Colonies de Sétif, a farming enterprise. However, he was also an accomplished author, writing An Account of the Regency in Tunis (1858) and most famously A Memory of Solferino (1862), which led directly to the foundation of the Red Cross.
