EDWARD ‘BLACKBEARD’ TEACH

Possibly the best-known pirate of this age, Blackbeard received his first command in 1716, from Hornigold. He quickly earned a fearsome reputation with his daring raids against vessels that crossed his path, building up his own fleet with captured ships. He accepted a pardon but soon went back to piracy and was eventually hunted down by Lieutenant

Robert Maynard and killed in 1718.
