NASA’s Op­er­a­tion IceBridge un­der­goes air­borne sur­veys of the

Earth’s po­lar ice. In this im­age, sci­en­tists got the chance to in­ves­ti­gate the north­ern Antarc­tic Penin­sula on 16 Oc­to­ber 2018 and spot­ted these un­usu­ally rec­tan­gu­lar ice­bergs.

This strange icy plat­form was cap­tured by IceBridge se­nior sup­port sci­en­tist Jeremy Har­beck who was par­tic­u­larly in­ter­ested in the A68 ice­berg, which is the size of the state of Delaware. Har­beck was sur­prised as he had "never seen an ice­berg with two cor­ners at such right an­gles."
