Approach to Bennu
NASA’s long-awaited Origins, Spectral Interpretation, Resource Identification, Security, Regolith Explorer (OSIRISREx) has completed its 2 billion-kilometre (1.2 billion-mile) journey through the Solar System to the asteroid Bennu.
After this image was taken on its approach at 80 kilometres (50 miles), OSIRIS-REx executed a manoeuvre that took it into a close orbit around the asteroid in order to investigate what these primordial time-capsules can tell us
about our early Solar System.
