Lunar-planetary occultations

Very rarely it’s possible to see a planet disappearing behind – or emerging from behind – the Moon. Just like ISS transits, you have to be in the right place at the right time to see one of these planetary occultations, and will also need either a pair of binoculars or a telescope to see it. If you have patience and time things just right, the view – and the experience – can be amazing.
