Comparing Apophis to the ‘Dinosaur Killer’

The most infamous asteroid strike is that of the Chicxulub Impactor 66 million years ago. This 10 to 15 kilometre (6.2 to 9.3 mile) asteroid struck the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico, generating an estimated energy equivalent to 21 to 921 billion Hiroshima bombs, wiping out the dinosaurs.
