Roll Out Solar Arrays (ROSA)

-

The DART spacecraft’s arrays are crucial for enabling the spacecraft to reach its target Dimorphos. The impressive solar arrays are light and compact, and will slowly unfurl to reach 8.5 metres (27.9 feet) in length – about the length of a bus.

The arrays were first tested on the International Space Station in 2017, and DART will be the first spacecraft to fly the new arrays, paving the way for future missions.
