Isaac Newton Telescope

The Isaac Newton Telescope is a 2.54-metre (8.4-foot) reflecting telescope that was built in 1967 for the Royal Observatory. Initially sited at Herstmonceux Castle in East Sussex, it was moved to the 2,396-metre (7,861foot) Roque de los Muchachos Observatory in 1979, where it continues to operate.
