RedCat and QHY16200A CCD A very wide view of the Heart and Soul Nebula (IC 1805 and IC 1848) – 7,500 light years away in Cassiopeia – using data from Grand Mesa Observatory’s System 1A William Optics RedCat together with a QHY16200A monochrome CCD. This combination is giving a field of view of approximately six by five degrees. The gases (mostly hydrogen) that comprise the nebulae are being ionised by the stars within the region, and as a result the gases glow, much like a neon sign.”
