“I’m an amateur photographer from Kolkata, India. I have been imaging objects in the sky for the last one-and-a-half years. The image shows Comet C/2017 K2 (PanSTARRS) passing by the interstellar dust in the constellation of Ophiuchus on 24 July 2022. In the second image, the comet can be seen passing by the globular cluster Messier 10, at the centre of the image. The comet made its closest approach to Earth on 14 July. The image taken on 15 July also captures another globular cluster, Messier 12.”
